the weekend i turned ONE!

i was grumpy. super duper grumpy like an old maid turning 61 instead of 31 for one whole week. and lucky for dear, i "recovered" on friday, 16th July. just 2 days shy of my birthday on sunday! nothing actually happened. i know frens are worried (thanks dears for your listening ears as i kpkb on the blog and FB.. paiseh..). it was like wat sam said, a pre-birthday thingy.. i guess itz cos i evaluated how the past year had gone by and the achievements or lack of it and i simply went ballistic. i panicked! and wondered where the past 365 days have gone to! and what have i done to show for it?? ha.. looking back, the past week was abit siao. but well, i tink i should be glad too. cos the "evaluation" actually cleared my mind a little and was a wake-up call for me to be grateful for & treasure what i have and also to strive to be a better person, wife & mummy. i should stay happy from now on. cos pple DO love me loads and i am such a silly, lucky person who didn't realise that for a fact.. hee..

ok. explanation for weird behaviour done. the following is wat happened thereafter! =P

the crazies @ work surprised me with a brownie (i dun fancy cakes) during a meeting and showered me with loads of love! meet them posing in front of the Windows 7 poster.. hee

then came the weekend.. and of cos time was spent with the 2 lil' cuties! we were invited to Faith's (auntie Mary's granddaughter) 4th birthday party @ downtown east chalet on saturday and so the group of us trooped down..

faith & adri looks so cute here cos they are both so FORMAL! hahaha.. just check out how straight they are standing.. aiyoo..

(anyway, i tink they dun like each other.. and i was telling dear that if i m faith, i also WUN like adri.. ha! imagine faith is the only granddaughter with no siblings and YET, her granny dotes on adri so much! and dat stooopid adri even snatched her 臭臭 to play with at the chalet.. now u tell me, will u like adri or not?? hahahaha!)

when we got back to mummy's place after the party, bro was all ready with his own surprise for me! (he sensed something is utterly wrong with his emo-sis over FB.. ha!).. love u much much bro!

then on the actual day, the cedar 4-beauties (or oldies now?? kakaka!) met up for brunch at wild honey. can't believe it took us more than 45 mins to get a table but but but.. the breakfast was great, like wat sarah said!! and cos of the delay, my birthday surprise from dear was delivered to me right outside the restaurant instead of him collecting it from the delivery guy and bringing it to me while seated inside.. well, itz still a beautiful surprise and i m very happy! thanks dear!

eclipse.. despicable me.. flipping.. canto ditty..

ha! u can tell from the blog title dat this is a mambo jumbo of sorts again.. hiaks!

1st up: Eclipse
there was a 8 Days contest that i knew i just had to take part in.. and i won the consolation "hamper" for the Eclipse premiere! woohoo.. i didn't go though but XY & HJ were sweet enough to go and get the stuff for me which includes the following and a poster and 2 movie premiere tix! so they watched the show (cos i already booked my tix on the 1st day of the show at vivo!!) and i got the stuff. hehe.. but.. merchandise and freebies are of cos nice.. however, the show isn't!! argh.. the books is soooo much better.. this pales in comparison.. haiyo.. considering dat i actually read all 4 books AGAIN prior to his movie's release, i tink the movie was a sore disappointment for me. hmpf!


moving on to "Despicable Me" aka "despica-mummy" (in missy's language).. we brought missy for her 3rd movie ever on the 15th of July! of cos we chose a weekday when both of us were on leave, just in case... but our fears were unfounded cos she loved the show and wasn't creating any ruckus at all (aside from talking out loud at times)! hahaha.. i tink we can start bringing her to other movies. especially when we dun have to pay for her tix cos dat pint-sized baby is still below 90cm (88cm i tink??).. save $$$..

then on the same day, we witness our lil' muscle-boy flipping like a roti-prata... ha! check out how cute he is. do try to ignore those WET fists of his though.. ha!

thirty-ONE dat is.

the past 1-2 weeks haven't been real kind. there had been lots to think about and moi ain't in the best of mood recently.
dear had to bear the brunt of it mostly. made me feel pretty apologetic. but the foul mood isn't clearing up after several pep talks by myself to myself. hurhurhur.

see... i am the proud mother of 2. and the usually happy wife of the wonderful husband. and i m obviously not in a foul mood cos of them... just that i hv been thinking about my life and career. it seems like underachievement seems to be a understatement for the state that i am in. sigh.

i dun wish to drone on this and let on more than i should. i will be striving over the next few weeks to get myself out of this stupid emotional state. grrrrr... itz such a drastic change to the exuberant mood of last year though i dreaded turning 30 then. hmmm.. midlife crisis? hur..

GAMBATE GAMBATE!!! snap out of it baby... (^_^) i can do it!

and i hate the yucky feeling dat comes with it.

i hvnt been reali down with flu for quite sometime now. maybe the sniffles here and there but running nose combine with a super-bad throat? uh-uh.. and it reali is shitty. im all stuffed up there and it's affecting my hearing on my right for now. doesn't help dat the right ear is already problemactic (still can't find the time to have it checked out..) and wee-wee had to scream in my right ear the other day when we were playing rough.. argh.. now it hurts and i totally deserve it. ouch..

gonna force myself to take something for brekkie and medicine so dat i can HOPEFULLY sleep this yucky feeling off.. zzzzzzzzzzzz

my life..

an idea of wat i've been up too, besides the obvious of being a mummy of 2 terrors..

1. chiong-ing the sales (albeit half-heartedly): half-heartedly cos of my size! haha.. i may have lost more than half dat i gained and i can feel my hips shrinking (cos i can fit into some old jeans) but i m still way off my mark! i still have 7kg to go! and if any1 remembers, 7kg has been my main grouse for a very long time.. argh.. i hvnt lost a single gram since returning to work! irritating.. ab circle pro works.. but my body dun! there are still aches everywhere and i m taking it real slow and not push it.. just in case the condition gets worse.. well well.. back to the GSS.. i have bought quite a number of new (bigger-sized)clothes ( though i keep reminding myself of the impending BKK trip in Aug.. but wat can a girl do when itz S.A.L.E?? hahahaha.. it gets pretty frustrating sometimes though. like the day at zara sale! i can't believe i left the shop poorer by a hundred bucks (ok la. not my $$$. dear sweetly offered to pay when he saw the disappointment on my face) and with NOTHING to show for it! the shopping stuff were meant only for ayden & adrienne! argh.. wat is the world coming to man?

2. working my ass off in the year-end close.. and phew! at least coming back early from maternity leave paid off.. we scored high, record breaking! hohohoh.. and there goes my diet plans too.. wat has it gotta do with year end close u ask? cos the one up there made sure we are fed for tea-time the whole week! hahaha.. if u ask me, i'll just say "SHOW ME THE MONEY!".. forget the niceties. i m not here to eat. just gimme wat i deserve and i can buy more than what u give.. hahaha!

3. learning new things from adrienne. she is such a cutie when it comes to showing wat she has learnt in school. cos she doesn't bother to update us on what she has learnt. instead, she catches us by surprise when she suddenly blurts out stuff like the following:

"what are these?
these are my clothes..
what are they for?
they are to keep my body warm, when i go outdoor!"

"way up high in the apple tree
3 little apples smiling at me.
i shook the tree as hard as i could.
down came the apples. 1. 2. 3!"

etc. etc. etc.
haha.. and from the way she recites, we all deduced one thing. datz for sure. she is a angmoh-chinese and chinese-angmoh.. huh? u ask..
she is angmoh-chinese cos she can't speak mandarin without an accent. and her manadarin is broken.
she is chinese-angmoh cos she can't speak english without an accent. and her english is broken.. wakakakkaa! so tell me.. wat am i supposed to do? la la la...

4. the rest of my time is taken up trying to BLL aka buah-long-long.. oopsie! how i wish BLL is a form of exercise.. then i m soooooooo sure i can lose weight! keke...

ayden is outgrowing the rocker soon.. in fact he just hit his head on the top part the other day when mummy tried to carry him out.. cos he KICKED! haha.. so while it is painful and he cried, i tot he deserved it la.. silly baby!

gobi... heavenly...

we were treated to a sumptious meal @ Yummy Claypot, courtesy of 美姨 @ joo chiat.. (her fav haunt nowadays! but i must say the food along the stretch is really pretty good.. ha!).. and right after, we popped by the newly opened GOBI at 350 joo chiat road and both 美姨 & 珮姨 treated us to one of the best desserts i have had for a very long time!

the souffle.. awww... super light and airy! though this arrived the last (which is not a good sign cos we were all STUFFED!) but it didn't disappoint and we didn't walk away regretting that we ordered one too many.. hee...

the meringue with crepes and passionfruit ice-cream..
creme brulee with paire william.. (i would recommend just having the creme brulee la..) wonderful with them using real vanilla rather than just the essence! made the taste so authentic without the "fake" taste..
molten chocolate lava.. worth it! slightly bitter, more expensive tasting chocolate compared to wat some places offer..
and tooth-decay inducing macarons!! hahaha.. just nice for the sweet-tooth moi!

flavours were pretty cute too: white flower, macha, choc, rose, camomile... i have never been a fan of macarons cos i find them too artificially sweet without any punch or real satisfaction after digestion.. ha! but these were pretty good... at least the flavours were erm... outstanding? keke..
just had to share this very pretty pic of the 2 kiddos.. hahahaha! to end the sweet post on a even sweeter note! i can't wait to be back at gobi soon... ^_^

i have always been soooooooooooooooooo JEALOUS and ENVIOUS of the dark & luscious eyelashes of weewee..

and ayden is starting to make me turn green with this.. grrr..
prediction: ayden's will be much longer and curlier than weewee's going by the rate they are growing right out! argh...
anyway, ayden turns 3 mths old! and check out this pic! hahaha..

and b4 we brought him to the dreadful 2nd 6-in-1 jab + rotarix vaccination on 4th july 2010 (sunday), we had a wonderful brekkie at coffee club at funan 1st! they served yummy brekkie (too bad no eggs benedict.. sob..) which was worth every penny of the promo they are currently having! 2 sets of brekkie (served with coffee/ tea) @ only $10!!! *slurp slurp*


everything went well at the clinic.. =) lil' ayden is now 7.45kg and 65cm tall as at 3mths old (both @ 90th percentile)! yeah yeah.. way to go baby darling! mummy is very happy that you are growing up well and healthy..

you might not be as cute as jie jie (sorie, mummy's honest opinions!) at the same stage, but daddy & i both love u loads. sorry we aren't talking to or playing with u as much as we'd like. our hands and time are pretty tied if you understand. jie jie is insisting dat we spend more time with her (she's jealous though i m sure she doesn't recognise it herself cos she still says she loves you and she wants u!).. i know how bored you must be but granny & great-granny love u lots lots! and they are doing all they can to actually shower u with the attention and love.. so much that jiejie feels pretty neglected. to "repay" their love, my dear boy: mummy just wana ask that you remain calm & collected when being offered your milk okie? haha.. you have been like a crazy lil' tiger when fed! u'll fuss even if you are darn hungry and only great-grany can settle you with her "pong-pong-pong" songs.. keke.. best time to feed you without u kicking up a fuss? at nite! then and again, you are at your best behaviour when it comes to nighttime.. so much easier than ur jie jie (*crosses fingers*).. you will make noise at 8pm, demanding to be fed and changed and put to bed.. and you will self-soothe and sleep (ok.. only 80-90% of the time ya??) and maybe wake up only once or twice at nite (mummy doesn't feed u at nite.. daddy & granny does.. but mummy knows okie?).. keep this up baby! we are certainly hopeful that you'll start sleeping through! (a first would be on 10th july.. you didn't wake up to ask for milk at nite.. hee!!) meanwhile, stay healthy and be happy my sweetheart! mummy & daddy & jie jie LOVES u soooooo much..

19th June 2010 - ooohhh.. our 1st trip to MBS.. marina bay sands.. check out the "sampan".. how nice of them to call it a sampan! so localised. lucky they never used the atas "gondola".. haha! maybe datz cos the place wasn't atas too la.. true, there were loads of branded boutiques under reno and waiting to be opened. but comparing it to the strip @ las vegas? mbs PALE in comparison... or shd i say we shdn't even be comparing in the 1st place?? cos of the stark difference!

anyway, that's little ayden strapped in for the 1st time in the combi nanna 4-way carrier.. and hmm... he's not too enthu about it but we dun care.. itz the only way to save our backs and arms if we still want them to function for many years to come! hahaha..

aiyoooo... my big-eyed boy.. trying to act oh-so-innocent... he looks cutest when he's lying down. whenever he is being carried upright, he looks very very much like my daddy (read: NOT handsome.. ha!). so ah pek!

26th june 2010 - eileen invited daphne & i to her place for a babies' "playdate"! it was so fun seeing Crystal for the 1st time and meeting Abrielle again! Crystal is such a chubby and cute lil' darling with a ready smile for everyone.. i simply love those dimples of hers.. awww... and Abrielle is such a petite young thing.. she's featherweight too, about ayden's size but she is 8mths old! haha.. nvm nvm.. she'll be such a precious sweetie to all around her..

although i didn't get anything on mother's day, i made sure dear got something from wee wee on father's day. however, being the very lazy me, it meant that the effort was not in itz concentrated form.. but but but! it'll make do i guess? for his 1st ever pressie from wee wee? hahaha

i cut the heart shaped paper and got weewee to draw her best impression of papa.. and this is wat we got! i just added in the hair!

and to make sure it is more special than only me writing the card, i held weewee's hand as we "wrote" this together.. happy father's day dear! u are indeed a loving and power daddy! =)
last but not least, a little pressie for myself! (ey.. my trusty key ring of 3 years broke!!!)
