a gift of love: January 2011

ok.. maybe not annual cos we missed out last year as i was preggers.. didn't plan on visiting in january actually.. so what happened? ha.. something super lame & bimbotic.. i was at bossini and their down jackets was at, i tink, 40% off.. and i LURVVVVVVVVEEE winter season! good excuse for me to buy another jacket though the leather & the cashmere ones are collecting dust in the wardrobe.. but well, who cares?

so with my jacket, i managed to convince the over-indulgent darling of mine to make it a jan 2011 trip instead!! and needless to say, i launched into a winter-spree (including peiyi et al) for missy too!.. and we started our countdown from xmas onwards..

little glitch before we head off though. damn! i forgot to book largos all cos i tot i have already done so! what i have booked was actually JUST disneyland hotel for the last nite stay.. tsk tsk.. so *heartpain*-ly, i had to fork out more than $700 EXTRA for eaton hotel! *faint* itz a BIG cut from my fat x'mas angbao from the hubby.. anyway.. my heart has healed a little cos from wat meiyi said, largos was super cold even with the aircon off.. so maybe itz considered a blessing in disguise ba? else i wouldn't know how to bathe weewee in the icy-cold morning.. *sheepish smiles* for my excuses..

1st Day (temp: 8deg) - 7th Jan 2011
airport ==> hotel ==> temple street ==> dinner @ kowloon
missy all exuberant at the airport.. excited i guess mostly from being able to ride on her trunki.. hurhur..

irritating the shit out of us on A380 (and throughout the trip) with her relentless questions and repetitive/ broken-recorder style mumblings.. looking back, i guess i shd have exercised more patience with her. well.. as usual, i didn't.. stooooopid me.. tsk..

2nd Day (temp: 9 - 10deg)
hotel ==> breakfast @ tsui wah ==> central H&M ==> lunch ==> aberdeen (Prada! miumiu!!) ==> dinner @ stanley ==> 1881 heritage/ harbour city

3rd Day (temp: 9 - 10deg)

hotel ==> breakfast @ tsui wah ==> tsim sha tsui ==> lunch (roasted goose!!! woohoo!!) ==> more shopping/ 1881 heritage ==> dinner @ harbour city with my paternal granny

my dear missy is the daredevil.. we were worried she'll be afraid of heights and will not look out the glass elevator.. guess we thought too much.. she LOVES it!! and can even do hangbar on it... *gosh*

met up with meiyi & the rest after their 2 days trip to zhuhai/macau! *phew* means more relief for me & dear from missy.. hahaha!

with my paternal granny.. weewee was so cheeky! she actually turned and asked me "mummy, 太嫲has 3 teeth ar?"... LOL!

4th Day (temp: 4 - 8 deg)

hotel ==> breakfast @ tsui wah ==> tai O to visit daddy's niche and offer prayers ==> visit大姑妈 & had lunch in Tai O ==> tung chung - Citygate outlets ==> dinner @ temple street ==> temple street shopping ==> supper @ temple street

ah liang wasn't feeling well since yesterday's oily lunch and it somehow got to wanqi too and she is feeling feverish.. but as we were heading out to pray to my dad, they somehow tried their best.. awww.. thanks!

with my dear gu-ma... she is a very very very lovely lady.. pity i dun see her often enough.. hmm...

5th Day (temp: 2-4deg)

hotel ==> dim sum along nathan road ==> disneyland hotel ==> disneyland!
after cramping 3 of us together on a small bed for 4 nites in a typical hkg hotel, we were glad to head out and woohoo!! i LOVE disneyland hotel.. simply beautiful and SPACIOUS!!! we checked in at ard 1pm+ and i had fun taking stock of all the amenities.. hahaha!

dear caught the chills too esp during the nightfall and suddenly developed a high fever.. so he looked more and more lethargic in the pics.. hurhur.. we head back to the hotel once the breathtaking fireworks were over. yes, simply breathtaking and i actually teared watching it.. crazy? nah... just emotional.. ha! will put up the videos in a separate post!

while dear was sleeping after getting back to the hotel, i brought missy to the hotel's shop since it was way too early for zzzzzzzzzz time and i needed to satisfy some shopping craving.. the shop assistants love her and were entertaining her for a long time while i shopped "in peace".. hiaks..

6th Day (temp: 2-4deg)

disneyland hotel ==> breakfast @ enchanted garden with the characters ==> disneyland (by myself only..) ==> check-in @ airport ==> raffles medical ==> SQ flight back home..

was glad that i booked the disneyland hotel with breakfast.. cos missy started feeling sick in the morning at breakfast.. halfway thru brekkie, i brought her to ask for a thermometer from the front desk.. gosh! her fever was already at 38.5deg.. aiyoo... however she still wanted to brave brekkie with us cos she was enjoying herself with the characters, especially Goofy.. who adores her too cos he spent a good half hour with her, playing, laughing and posing for pics.. even trying to help us make her drink the bottle of milk.. hurhurhur..

she didnt reali like daisy duck though. and i tink it was a case of petty jealousy.. cos she went "mummy, daisy's eyelashes very long hor?" and she prides herself on her eyelashes.. ha!

so... after brekkie, dear decided that i should go out and explore disneyland while he takes care of her since his own fever has subsided.. well, off i went and tried to see as much as i can in less than 2hrs.. rushed back to hotel by 2.30pm to have everything packed and headed for the airport but not before a kind assistant gathered the princesses to talk to and "sayang" missy.. thumbs up for the excellent service!
reached airport way too early for our flight but we had to ensure missy sees the doc.. and we had a scare. her fever has gone up to 40.2deg!!!! GOSH! i almost had tears flowing down my face when doc says she can't fly home.. frantic calls were made back home and to my paternal granny to make some offerings to the ancestors in hkg to apologise for not making the trip back home to offer incense.. luckily for us, missy started to perspire while we were having coffee to pass the time and it dropped to 37.9deg about an hour before flight.. of cos we had to catch the plane home.. we were really lucky to have this little girl up & running once she woke up cos her fever has gone down even further.. phew!!
now.. my buys... ha! not alot though if u consider how i can shop in hkg. wrong season la..
miumiu mini bow bag from space. a boutique opened and run by prada themselves that stocks off-season bags.. how can i resist this fantastic buy in my favourite colour somemore?
the mittens that kept dear (yes, fabian) warm on the 1st day of disneyland.. and my magical coin collection to make up for the lack of stay/play in disneyland!
